Tucked in the former Manhattan Shirt Co. building in Paterson, The Fold is a curated creative space designed as a blank canvas for art, food, and community. It’s a place where expression takes shape against a backdrop that honors the city’s industrial history.
With 14-foot ceilings, expansive windows, hardwood floors, exposed brick, and industrial accents, The Fold delivers the kind of loft-style aesthetic you’d expect in New York City while offering the freedom and accessibility of a Northern New Jersey venue.

The Story Behind The Fold
The Fold lives inside a building that once powered Paterson’s role as a hub of American industry. The Manhattan Shirt Company operated here in the early 20th century, producing garments at scale during a time when Paterson’s mills and factories defined the city’s identity. When Eric and Hoda Saltzman discovered the building, they saw an opportunity to breathe new life into a space tied to Paterson’s textile history.
Instead of erasing the industrial character, they chose to preserve it. The soaring ceilings, exposed brick, and factory windows remain, but the interior has been carefully reshaped to host creativity in modern forms — from food and art to business and community. The name “The Fold” itself is a tribute to that garment legacy, a nod to both the literal act of folding fabric and the way a community folds together when given the right environment.
Eric and Hoda envisioned The Fold as an accessible alternative to New York City lofts. They wanted a space with the same style and sophistication, but without the constraints, high costs, and rigid vendor rules that often come with city venues. Their goal was to create a place that artists, entrepreneurs, and neighbors could actually use — whether that means co-working during the week, filming a music video, hosting a tasting dinner, or celebrating life milestones.
Today, The Fold reflects that vision: a venue rooted in Paterson’s history, but designed to serve the needs of a diverse and creative community right now.

The Fold is also an easy trip from Clifton, Totowa, Woodland Park, Wayne, Elmwood Park, Fair Lawn, Paramus, Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Hackensack, Teaneck, Montclair, Bloomfield, Nutley, Jersey City, Hoboken, Newark, the Meadowlands, and most of Bergen and Passaic County, with quick access via Interstate 80, Route 46, and the Garden State Parkway.
Our Collaboration
Our work with The Fold has focused on strengthening their digital presence to match the energy of their physical space. We redesigned sections of their website to better showcase the venue’s versatility, improved SEO to help them connect with people searching for creative and event spaces in Northern New Jersey, and launched ongoing digital marketing to build awareness and drive bookings. The goal has been to make The Fold more discoverable online.
